  1. The theme is really innovative, but it doesn’t appeal to me. The game mechanics are ok, but I think I’m going to skip this one.
Thanks for the review, guys! I missed the jokes at the beginning of the video, though. ;)

  2. Sparkles and poetry… Not sure if this will be making the cut. Although it looks like it successfully brought a unique theme into a board game that is not represented very much to my knowledge. Do you know if the actual text on the card poems are real?

  3. Wow. That is no doubt the most unusual theme I’ve heard of. That’s not to say that the theme bad, of course.

From what I know about Z-Man games, they are not afraid to break the mold, thematically speaking, and this game exemplifies their boldness.

I don’t know if I’ll ever get a chance to play this game, but just seeing this video makes me appreciate what people are trying to do to make their own contribution to gaming as unique as possible.

I have to disagree about the rule book. The walls of text could have easily been replaced by diagrams, making instruction much easier. One of my current projects is making a simple Genji playaid.

Also, the production quality is rough. The lamination of the tokens is the main culprit for me.

Overall, these downsides don’t detract too much from the game. The randomness of the draw encourages interesting strategies like leaving poems for the next season. I wouldn’t factor that in too much into my assessment of the game.
