[media  id=20 width=600 height=350]

What’s Cool:

  • Fast paced.
  • Fun for adults too.
  • Nice 3D pieces and of good quality.
  • Teaches numbers, spacial relations and strategy to young kids.
  • Players get very involved in the game.
  • Won many awards. (9)

What’s Not:

  • The artwork on the cards need some adjusting.
  • The company logo should not be used on the cards back sides.
  • The game title and box make it look like a “hands dexterity” game, but it’s not.

The production quality is great for this kids game. One rule we added when we played is a scoring variant from the Schmidt version of this game.

If at anytime during the game a player spots his Tikis in exactly the right order needed for perfect score (#1 in the #1 spot, #2 in the #2 spot and #3 in the #3 spot), he has the option to call out “Tiki Tiki” and take himself out of the game at this point but score 10 points.

Each person gets a tiki goal card that they must complete. It’s basically a bunch of different colored tikis and you have to get your 3 colors in the right position to score points (you don’t have to have all 3 in the right positions.. just 1 or more). There are cards that let you move one tiki 1, 2, or 3 positions and also a card that removes the last tiki (tiki toast) from the game

I played this game with my girlfriend and her niece who is 9 yrs old. She really enjoyed the game and so did we. After a few players, she started to get the strategy and tactics involved in order to win the game. It’s one of those games that kids will enjoy and it may even teach them about strategy so you can introduce them to more complicated games.

I think it’s well worth if you plan on playing with kids.

    8/10 to play with kids

6/10 to play with just adults
